Artist Choy Ka Fai has been messing around in meat-space for a while. Now he has taken it too far! (or is it not far enough?) Watch in wonder as he uses the Kinect to control the actual muscle movements of a volunteer. He is a volunteer…right KA5?…right?

Now that is creepy as hell!

    oh WOW!

if they track the “victim” with the kinect as well, then they could actually modulate the stimulus to apply more or less stimulation depending on how close the victim’s current limb position is to the desired position you want.

ie: it would have it’s own built in feedback, and as a result enable you to copy entire body postures onto another human.

    Excellent!

    Well done!

However, unless there’s something I’m missing, I’m pretty sure that’s a fake. The level of nerve stimulation necessary to get that kind of activity from a surface electrode would cause unbearable pain, too.

It wouldn’t be unbearable, but it would hurt, yes.
